PAN400 - Ancient oil painting on canvas depicting Saint John.
John the Baptist was an apostle of Jesus. Christian tradition identifies him with the author of the fourth gospel and for this reason he is also given the epithet of evangelist.
He is depicted with a beard and a face marked by wrinkles, in reference to the life of penance dedicated to God led by the saint since he was a child. He holds stick with left hand.
The painting comes complete with a golden frame.
1600s era.
